After five months of relentless effort by Bangandi's on-site implementation team, the existing video surveillance equipment and system at SINOPEC Lubricant Wuhan Branch were supplemented, updated, and upgraded. All functions and outcomes met the requirements of the project design, significantly reducing the incidence of safety incidents. The project complied with the conditions and standards for headquarters acceptance and was successfully completed.
SINOPEC Lubricant Company Limited (Great Wall Lubricant) is a specialized lubricant company established by SINOPEC to adapt to the international competition in the lubricant market. It officially commenced operations on July 1, 2014. The company has built "Great Wall Lubricant" into a widely recognized and popular brand in China and is taking the "SINOPEC" brand to the global market. Its product range includes over 2,000 varieties across 21 major categories, such as internal combustion engine oils, industrial gear oils, hydraulic oils, greases, antifreeze, brake fluids, metalworking fluids, marine oils, and lubricant additives. These products are widely used in various manufacturing fields including machinery, metallurgy, mining, petrochemicals, and electronics.
The surveillance equipment in the production area of SINOPEC Lubricant Wuhan Branch has developed numerous issues after years of operation, such as an insufficient number of cameras, outdated equipment, predominantly analog signals, unclear surveillance footage, and aging cables. Furthermore, most of the surveillance equipment is in a state of disuse and non-functionality, significantly increasing safety hazards in the facility and hindering the normal progress of safety production management.
As an "Industrial Internet + Safety Production Integrated Solution Provider," Bangandi actively leveraged its technical advantages, platform strengths, hardware capabilities, and service excellence in the safety production domain to assist SINOPEC Lubricant Wuhan Branch in constructing a new video surveillance platform, thereby enhancing the company's safety production management capabilities.
This project received strong support from Wuhan Lubricant Branch, Shanghai Lubricant Branch, and Qingdao Institute of Safety Engineering. Upon entering the SINOPEC Lubricant Wuhan Branch facility, Bangandi's on-site implementation team proactively engaged with the facility managers to comprehensively understand the operational status of the existing surveillance facilities and platform. Based on the facility's requirements and Bangandi's own technical expertise, they formulated a detailed and reliable project plan for the video surveillance platform.
During project implementation, equipment was updated in office areas, the plant area, workshops, warehouses, and key passageways/intersections. The latest starlight-grade digital high-definition cameras were deployed throughout. Additionally, 23 existing digital high-definition cameras were inspected, their cabling organized and reconnected, and then all were integrated into the new surveillance platform. Following the equipment and system updates, the outcomes and needs for clear footage, complete surveillance coverage, and convenient, efficient use were achieved.
Simultaneously, the project incorporated the latest CVR streaming media servers and disk array storage servers, enhancing the functionality for real-time video preview and post-event recording retrieval/playback. A Santak UPS power control cabinet and battery bank were installed, ensuring the surveillance platform equipment could receive continuous power for 4 to 5 hours in case of an unexpected power outage, guaranteeing uninterrupted video surveillance operation.
The construction period for this video surveillance platform project coincided with summer, with temperatures nearing 40°C (104°F) and extremely hot weather, making the work challenging. However, to avoid disrupting normal plant production, Bangandi's construction personnel started early in the morning and worked overtime into the evening, persevering diligently. The entire construction process ensured project quality, maintained a "zero-accident" record, and greatly exceeded expected outcomes.
