From September 8 to 10, the 2026 China International Emergency Management Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the “China Emergency Expo”), hosted by the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management, was grandly held at the Beijing National Convention Center. Under the theme “New Quality Empowerment, Smart Emergency Response,” this year’s exhibition brought together more than 400 leading domestic and international enterprises. It showcased cutting-edge technologies and high-end equipment in fields such as aviation emergency response, unmanned emergency response, emergency management informatization, work safety and accident rescue, and disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief, comprehensively presenting the latest achievements in China’s safety and emergency industry. As a professional service provider in industrial safety digitalization, Beijing Bangandi Information Technology Co., Ltd., together with its partners, launched an explosion-proof inspection robot dog specially designed for the hazardous chemicals industry at this exhibition, building a new safety barrier for high-risk operations.

1. Going Deep into High-Risk Scenarios to Create an Intelligent Inspection Tool

This robot dog is specially designed for high-risk environments such as fire emergency response, hazardous chemicals warehouses, petrochemical plants, refining and chemical plants, and LNG stations. It is not a “showpiece” device on an exhibition stand, but a mobile safety platform that can autonomously inspect along preset routes and can also be remotely taken over and controlled. It can climb slopes, go up stairs, traverse ramps, and walk on rough terrain, adapting to process units, tank farms, pipe racks, stairs, and narrow passages, replacing personnel in entering flammable, explosive, toxic, and hazardous areas to carry out tasks.

The product adopts a quadruped bionic structure and a fully insulated explosion-proof reinforced design, supporting all-terrain autonomous navigation and modular payloads. The payload bay can quickly swap modules such as sensors, robotic arms, and fire-extinguishing devices, enabling it not only to inspect but also to transport supplies and assist in remote handling. Equipped with an integrated perception system including LiDAR, an explosion-proof gimbal, an infrared camera, and a gas telemetry device, combined with AI algorithms, it can achieve real-time path planning, obstacle avoidance, target tracking, and remote communication. In one sentence, its uses can be summarized as follows: daily inspections, night inspections, patrols of tank farms/process units/pipe racks/warehouses, leak detection, personnel behavior supervision, emergency search and rescue, material delivery, and remote handling—allowing the robot dog to enter first, transmit real-time data, detect anomalies, and assist in handling.

2. Equipped with an Intelligent Terminal, Inspection Capabilities Fully Upgraded

After being equipped with Bangandi’s self-developed “Intelligent Monitoring Terminal for Special Operations,” the explosion-proof inspection robot dog forms an integrated capability of “mobile inspection + intelligent monitoring + AI early warning + remote handling.” The terminal is designed for flammable, explosive, toxic, and hazardous industries such as petroleum, chemicals, and coal mining, with industrial-grade intelligent explosion-proof capabilities. It can collect, monitor, and alarm on real-time gas concentrations, personnel behavior, and environmental conditions on site.

The upgrades are mainly reflected in three aspects. First, 360° panoramic video recording replaces the approximately 120° local field of view of traditional robot dogs, reducing inspection blind spots and allowing remote operators to see the full picture clearly. Second, gas monitoring supports simultaneous four-gas detection and gas telemetry; abnormal concentrations trigger real-time alarms and are transmitted back to the platform. Third, AI unsafe behavior recognition can simultaneously perform face recognition, detection of hard hat/smoking/seatbelt/workwear violations, abnormal posture detection, and job qualification verification, as well as count and monitor the number of on-site personnel. With ad-hoc network communication, Beidou/GPS positioning, and real-time voice intercom, operators can remotely take over and handle situations.

At the same time, the robot dog itself can climb slopes, go up stairs, adapt to complex terrain, and with its explosion-proof design, can penetrate deep into high-risk areas for sustained operations. Modular payloads can also perform material transport, target tracking, and remote handling as needed. Thus, the robot dog is no longer just “watching images”; it can follow routes, enter hazardous areas, measure gases, recognize people, issue alarms, communicate by voice, transport materials, and assist in handling, truly achieving “one machine manages the whole site.”

3. Collaboratively Building a New Safety Barrier to Empower Smart Emergency Response

The combination of the explosion-proof inspection robot dog and the intelligent monitoring terminal for special operations builds a new safety barrier for high-risk operations such as inspections in the hazardous chemicals industry. Together, they form a three-dimensional safety protection system of “mobile inspection + intelligent monitoring + remote handling + AI early warning.” The robot dog penetrates dangerous areas to perform inspections, search and rescue, and material transport, while the intelligent terminal conducts real-time monitoring and early warning of personnel behavior, gas concentrations, and environmental conditions at the operation site. This effectively reduces personnel exposure risks, improves inspection efficiency and emergency response capabilities, and helps hazardous chemical enterprises achieve safer, smarter, and more efficient production management.

The successful holding of this exhibition not only showcased the latest achievements in the innovative development of the safety and emergency equipment industry but also further consolidated the forces of government, industry, academia, research, and application. Although the exhibition has ended, the pace of innovative development in the safety and emergency industry continues. In the future, Bangandi will continue to uphold its mission of “strengthening safety with technology and ensuring production with expertise,” continuously deepening the innovative application of emerging technologies in the emergency safety field, enhancing emergency response capabilities with smart technology, helping the hazardous chemicals industry fundamentally improve safety production management, jointly promoting high-quality development of the safety and emergency industry, and contributing more to modernizing emergency management.
